Mendel Goldbloom’s 3rd Yarzeit

Monday, Shmini Atzeres, 22 Tishrei, is the third yarzeit of Mendel a”h, beloved son of Goldie Goldbloom.
Please do a mitzvah for the zechus of Menachem Mendel a”h ben Aryeh Tzvi v’Golda n”y.
Goldie writes: My son was a Marine who was killed. He was tremendously gifted (finished high school in 5th grade), an athlete, the kindest and most gentle man you could imagine, and he always had my back. He raised my youngest son like his own child, and always had a good attitude. Nothing, nothing, ever got him down.
May his neshama have an aliyah and may his next life be much easier than this one.
Goldie, I never knew Mendel was a marine! I want to hear more of his story. As you mention, he certainly must have personified perseverance. My hope is that this middah makes him the absolute best מליץ יושר for you now– to give you the strength and perseverance to carry on and to do so in his memory and spirit.
Thank you for sharing. How brave he must have been to serve. May his zechus bring much brachos to you and your family. I will take on something in Mendel’s honor–There’s someone in my community whom I bring food to –as part of a group of women, but I usually just drop it and run. In Mendel’s zechus, I’m going to take a little time talk to this man–he’s elderly and lonely–and even more important, to listen to him a bit.
